Hello from Texas
Greetings all. I just purchased a '15 ZL1 on 12/26 and I am loving it. This was not my original plan, however. Ive been a Chevy guy my entire life and have been out of the performance car game for some time UNTIL Dodge announced the Challenger Hellcat. I've always liked the Challenger and how much it resembles the classics so I ran down to the dealer, placed a deposit and was eagerly awaiting... Until all the gaming began with the dealer allocation nonsense and dealers marking these things up $10-$20K. My order went in on day one... so I should have a car by now. Nope, I was stuck in Hellcat purgatory like thousands of other folks where Dodge had SOLD vehicles with. The last straw for me was when I found a dealer that had an allocation available. They wanted a $7,500 deposit, which I was fine with... Until I got to the dealer and asked two questions. 1. Was the deposit refundable... and it was. 2. The deposit goes towards the purchase price of the car? The answer was NO. Basically they wanted me to pay them $7,500 just for the opportunity to buy a car. Call it a mark up or whatever... If any of you are familiar with the press releases and how the program was set up, it was to avoid all of this. I told the dealer thanks for wasting my time and what they could go do with themselves.
So then I go to the Chevy dealer I purchased my '11 Silverado from. On the showroom floor sat a '15 ZL1 with just about everything I would want on it. It had arrived two days prior. Long story short, after all the dealer dog and pony shows, I am now the proud owner of a Black '15 ZL1. Ive already been pulled over but I think the cop just wanted to look at it. 55 in a 50? Really haha? So thats my story... I'll be looking aroung the forum for performance upgrade recomendations and all the other greatness that comes with this hobby. So now I have a '78 anniversary Corvette, an '11 Silverado and a '15 ZL1. Life aint so bad |

CONGRATS on your ride and Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to Camaro5. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, dad's, wives', husband's, girlfriend's and boyfriend's here don't care....and take it easy.
oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!!
