Flowmaster’s new Scavenger X-Pipe kits for the 2016-2019 Camaro SS are a great way to increase the sound level of your car. These Scavenger Series X-pipe assemblies are intended to be used as an upgrade to Flowmaster’s rear section Axle-back kits, and replace the heavily flattened section of the factory system. The pipes for auto cars (part #81084) also feature valves to retain the factory active exhaust management function. These pipe kits are constructed with 3.00 inch 409s mandrel bent tubing and utilize Flowmaster’s patented D-port design to help maximize exhaust scavenging. These kits fit hard top models only. These pipe systems are manufactured in the USA and are covered by Flowmaster’s Lifetime Limited Warranty.

PM a vendor for pricing.

I like this option for NPP to replace the crushed pipes that bother me in principle, though word is that no performance improvement is available from their removal.

Is this a direct bolt-on? Will it generate a CEL?

I'm hoping for a deeper tone with less rasp and maybe a few HP.

Any exhaust experts care to chime in?

The main benefit of these kits is that they increase the pipe size over stock and eliminate the crimped/smashed areas. The valves are functional and will not create any CEL/MIL issues. These pipes are a direct bolt-in when used with our Axle-back kits. They could be used with the stock mufflers, but the pipes would need to be butt welded or adapters would have to be made.

Yes. Flowmaster Scavenger X-Pipe kits attach after the factory catalytic converters and do not alter your OEM emissions equipment. Which one of our Axle-back systems are you running?

Thanks for the response. I bought the American thunder and the reason I was asking if they are smog legal is because in your installation instructions it shows that the secondary catalytic converters are removed.

We have recently confirmed that our Flowmaster Scavenger X-Pipe Kit for the 2016-2019 Camaro SS (part# 81083) will properly fit the 2017-2018 ZL1 Camaro with MANUAL transmission ONLY.

*Fitment note only applies to the MANUAL transmission ZL1 due to the location of the MDS valves on the automatic ZL1

We recently got our hands on the brand new 2019 Camaro SS and we can confirm that the Flowmaster Scavenger X-pipe (part #81083 for manual transmission vehicles without MDS valves) will fit the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro SS with a 6-speed manual transmission and no MDS exhaust valves.
