Hurst Line Lock (Roll Control) Not Holding
I went to the track last weekend. Friday night everything worked great. First pass on Saturday, everything worked great.
The next several passes on Saturday, my line lock wasn't holding. I don't know if I was sliding the skinnies or if the front brakes weren't locking. Has anybody had this issue? Thanks. |

Not at all! Works fantastic every time. I have regular tires on the front.
Make sure to press the brake pedal hard before hitting the hold button. It will hold at whatever pressure your using. If that doesn't work then your skinnies are probably sliding... |

Thanks. It's just weird that I had no issues and then they stopped holding.
Another guy, in a MOPAR, was having the same issue. So it was probably sliding the skinnies. |

It's possible you were sliding the front tires if you pumped the brakes hard a couple times before activating it. There has been cases of brakes not holding and pushing through them before. You can always bleed your brakes more and verify there is good fluid in the lines and no leaks and have good pads.
I've seen instances where starting a burnout too slow can grip the track too much with the rear tires and push it forward a little or if there's not enough water to help the rear tires spin. Feel free to call, email, or PM me with any questions. Regards, Brandon |

Thanks for the advice. John |

I found that if I let the rpms come down too low that the front tires would slide during the burnout. Raise the rpm up and it stays where it should.
I thought something was wrong at first until I had a buddy of mine watch what was going on, and from watching video of the car. The skinny fronts will slide easier too.

I had to do a rebuild on mine.. Hurst sells a rebuild kit with all the o-rings and springs.
The way i ensured it was the line lock was I went to a back road, engaged the line lock and just gave moderate throttle. the car held for a second, then started creeping along and eventually rolled out like i was off the button. I installed the rebuild kit and all was well. |
