Okay Detail Experts.....
How would you tackle removing the tar and gravel from the suspension and wheels?
(Scroll down the thread a bit. The damage was sustained on the way to Camaro5 Fest IV) http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showth...=312533&page=2

Man that's one messed up undercarriage, best suggestion I can give is an outdoor lift and hire someone with a Hotsy Hot Water Pressure Washer. Good luck.

A lift would be nice, but a least get it as high as you can on jack stands. Cover your garage floor with a plastic drop of some kind because you're going to have a mess. Remove your wheels. To get the majority off I would probably fill a bucket with mineral spirits , then use a paint brush to saturate the tar. It's going to probably take quite a few applications. I don't envy you as you're going to have one big mess on you hands. I'd probably work sections at a time until that section was clean then move on to another section
I'd of probably shot myself by now if this was my car.

There is a product called Tardis. Buy a gallon of it and it will make easy work of it.
As others have said, get it up op a rack so you clean it properly. |
