However, the 2010 was a re-introduction of a retired name plate, or a brand new platform. GM knew they couldn't just stick a Camaro badge on a restyled Malibu body and frame and call it a Camaro. The 6th Gen will not be new, but a redesign of a car that is already in production. I think the time between reveal and production will be shorter.

It was "new" again, as you say, but not on a new platform. They took the Zeta chassis from the GTO and updated it and that's what the Camaro got. At least I think that's right lol.
