Those who part with a 2012/2013 ZL1 for "this" new Stingray would be making a serious mistake if "having a rarity" is a priority. Now, a std G5 Camaro ---- not so much. The base C7 will likely run about the same as a ZL1. The ZL1 (especially the 2012's) will be quite rare in comparison. - Big HP, Supercharged, No Active Fuel Management; As GM said ... The Highest Performance Camaro in the History of the Brand.

This is not a comment on the C7. They will be plentiful. Always there for the willing buyer(s). Along with the AFM and about 29 mpg.

One thing for sure.... GM is getting some momentum in design and engineering. It's good to see. But, getting a product at the high HP end is starting to get harder to reach for those of middle class means. Until the housing market recoups and people can tap into equity (good luck on that), I don't see a ton of Gen5 folks selling their Camaros to get a C7. I remember a couple years ago how the talk was all about how the new Z/28 and/or ZL1 was going to cannibalize the Vette. When the Z/28 comes out here soon to close out G5 Camaro, and introduce it for G6, the saga will continue.

To be continued . . . . . . .
