The reason for the year long wait is because the parts on the Z51 package are being allocated to the new Z06. LOL. Well at these that would be somewhat acceptable.
I can't believe that GM would not be able to resolve a supply chain issue inside of a few months and have a backlog burn down plan that went past a few months after that. GM is in the business of selling cars and they will move mountains to prevent delayed sales for 12 months. The big three has been known to murder suppliers that don't ramp up quickly.
