Colors like Laguna Blue, Garnet Red and Bright Yellow are multiple stage or tintcoat paints. That is the only reason they cost more and the cost is more associated with the set up and switch over process on the paint line at the factory. Hyper/Vector Blue is a normal 2 stage base/clear paint.

I think Cadillac is charging $495 for Vector Blue because it is only available on the V-series cars so that requires a set up change on the line. The 2 multistage colors Crystal White and Red Obsession are $1000. They charge $495 for Phantom Grey V-series as well, but no clue why as its a free color on the normal ATS's.

When you nail the proper shade of blue, its a popular color. Your going to have to get over that one. Colors like Quazar Blue and Bright Blue metallic used to be popular colors for the 3rd gens and early LT1 era 4th gens.
