Seems pretty plausible and what most likely will happen. The only thing I could see happening if we see a video of the turn signals working is a dual colored bulb where the inboard lenses could double as a reverse light and turn signal.
I do wish most cars came with much brighter reverse lights, putting 5-10% tint makes backing up pretty annoying, although greatly helped by a reverse camera.
