Several steps between 3800 (Built) and 3000. May do all in one day but will have to be at 3400 (Production Scheduled) at least a few days before final assembly so things like stickers w/ VIN etc. can be printed/readied.
So there will be status changes between now and the start of regular production.
The status changes are really GMs way of one part of the corporation communicating with each of the other parts and are intended for those parts and therefore not necessarily intended/oriented for external to GM partys.
