AGP owners, question about heat and harness

Do you guys think this routing of the main ecu harness, properly wrapped, is going to suffer from heat. Trying to finalize routing of the harness.

Thanks
Brian

Please excuse the mess, it’s a work in progress…

The ecu is located in the cabin filter area and the path pictured is my preferred route for the harness to the engine. What’s in the picture is just the part of the harness that goes to passenger side of the engine on the bottom.

Any suggestions or opinions are appreciated.
Brian

I don't have AGP, but my single set up loves to melt loom in that area. This stuff holds up to the heat better than any other loom I have found, except maybe the silicone covered stuff, which is not split.

Thanks for the feedback, I saved what you sent.

Something else I have considered to to fabricate a "gutter" for the harness to lay in. Crude sketch attached. I really don't want to do this, but it might be the better option. Thoughts?

The harnesses just get tucked above the tran away from the turbos. I've had my AGP kit installed now for about 6 months and have put probably 2k miles on it. No issues with melting harnesses.
I can't tell exactly where the picture is. Looks like near the starter? Intercooler piping for the hot side runs right by there.

Looking at the last pic I posted, the stud on the bottom edge I marked in red is for the heat shield that runs underneath.

Starter on the right and the brake lines and fuel line on the left. Picture is a bit disorienting since everything is removed and different colors :D

Could you grab a pic of the same angle? I’d owe you one! If not, I understand.

Hope that picture helps. I put DEI HeatShroud on it. Never had a problem.

It does help! Thanks. :happy0180: I probably won't be running that heat shield that covers the heater core lines.

coincidentally that helped me find a header bolt that's missing lolol, so glad I went and snapped the pic

So that's basically where the cast agp collector goes that the BOV and turbo hang from. They both have heat shielding towards the trans. If you ran the wiring behind the oem heat shield i wouldn't worry about it. But no way you could run an unprotected loom.

I didn’t see it until you said something :D

Are you talking about the heat shield that protects the heater core lines? If so I am going to have to get creative. Didn’t plan to run that one anymore.

I don't run a shield on my heater lines and the passenger side header even burnt the foam off the aluminum line. I do tuck a lot behind the heat shield that runs up from the trans tunnel and covers the inner fender.

I tried taking a picture of the area in reference but the headers, strut bar and big phone are hard to capture a clear image.

Yours is much lower but here's what mine looks like
