I would have attached a picture of what I woke up to this morning, but I didn't want to try taking a picture at -15 degrees!
:-)

Very windy here today, but temps will be backin the 70's this week.

Yup, I still do not miss snow and freezing temps.

That's not snow. Here in Michigan we've had about ten inches in the last ten days or so. Here's a pic out my back door. Yes I know it's upside down, can't make it show rightside up.

Ditto, we got hit by the same system up here... (don't think I'm old enough to be considered an old fart yet, sorry)

Two storms will be coming through here between today and Christmas. We rarely have consecutive days of rain here. Guess it will snow up north.

Going to be 70 degrees for Christmas. That is just weird. This temp roller coaster is killing me.

We had drama over my daughter coming home today. Her pet rabbit is on antibiotics for "sniffles". Her vet said it was "preventive" but our vet says rabbits getting antibiotics is a last resort & the "sniffles" in rabbits is highly contagious & her rabbit needs to be quarantined & should not come to our house & expose my rabbit. She could not find anyone to come to her house to take care of the rabbit then the person who was supposed to take care of her dog also backed out. We have been texting back & forth all day while she & we were at work trying to figure it out. She finally got a person who works with her to agree to do it for $ 200 but my daughter does not feel that good about the arrangement. We said we'd pay. Nothing is ever easy.

Is it 2017 yet? I am ready for this year to be over.

Yes - You qualify! I'm 59 with no grandchildren at the present time.

Trickskier 12-23-2016 07:02 PM

I don't know about where you guys live but the holiday traffic around here is the worst I've ever seen!

GODFATHER366 12-23-2016 11:04 PM

Took the kids top see rogue one in Imax tonight and I live in the sticks so gotta good ride in and it wasn't to bad.

RubyCamaro 12-24-2016 09:03 AM

Traffic here has been terrible too. My daughter said it was really bad all the way from Florida to Tennessee, delaying her over an hour. She is home safely though.

Merry Christmas crew.

Very cool gift. Holidays went off without a hitch. It sure is not as fun as it used to be though. Record heat here (75) made it seem not very Christmasy. Good to spend some time with my kids. Here is a pic if Mike & me with our kids.

Great Pic Jan!

Hey gang! Hope everyone had a great Christmas. I'm back to work for four days this week. That's better than five days. ;)

This was rather special Christmas. On Thursday, December 22, my wife had scheduled surgery to remove a malfunctioning parathyroid gland. We have four in our neck. Anyway, as we were getting ready that morning, I received a text from buddy telling me to call him. I'm not a morning person, but I did call him.

His daughter has been on the kidney transplant list or 3+ years, and earlier that morning, they received a call a kidney was available. After discussing certain criteria, they decided to accept it and said he would see us at Mayo later that day.

While Claire's was in surgery, I found my buddy and his family in admitting. I sat with them for a while and assured them everything will check out OK ( the kidney and his daughter). It was Christmas, and there would be only one outcome in this. They were called to go upstairs, so I ate breakfast. Afterwards, I headed back up to the 2nd floor waiting area and, waited......

Meanwhile, my buddy and his wife walked into the waiting area. They said the kidney checked out OK and so did their daughter, and the transplant had begun. It would be about a 2-3 hour operation. AFter chatting for a while, my wife's surgery was completed, so I met with the surgeon, then visited Claire in recovery for a short while. I was then asked to return to the waiting area, so with some time on our hands, we went downstairs for lunch.

After finishing lunch, I got the call my wife was in her room, so we all headed back up to the seventh floor and hung out with her. Shortly after, they got the call their daughter's transplant was completed, in only 1.5 hours!

My wife's surgery was a success and my buddy's daughter is doing well too. I would say this was a pretty cool Christmas!

Later that day, while sitting with my wife, she told me to go home and work on my car, as she wanted to get some rest.

I'm 95% done.
