Question For You Guys W/ Weekend camaros

Do you guys with garage queens pay full coverage year round for insurance? A good friend who lives out of the country has his Porsche in the garage most of the time and only pays for insurance coverage as a weekend car only. My insurance agent says there is no way for me to get this type of coverage even though I put less that 500 miles on my car (a year). What are the insurance regulations where you guys live for none DD cars?

mine is driven daily from april to december, then parked about 3.5 months during the winter, have to have full coverage since the car is being financed and it's required. wish I could drop it during winter and save a bit but it costs me less than 200 during those months, no biggy really!

Yes. Just because its in a garage it isn't totally safe. Lost a new '13 SS conv. less than 250 miles in the garage from hurricane Sandy!

I have mine covered under miles its like $1200 a year full coverage as long as its under 3500 miles.

USAA offers "Storage Mode" up to 6 months, and fully covered (cannot drive during those periods)....Mine in storage mode from Thanksgiving to Spring.....

Wow,never heard of that!

Mine is based on miles, think I get about 3K a year and if I go over I just have to pay the difference for the normal premium. But I barely go over 1500 miles a year so I'm good. It's still full coverage though

Yup... motorcycle and SS both in winter mode.

If you a USAA member, then do call them... think they can make it retro for a few weeks....

I have the same thing with Geico, If I do get a good day I can call before driving and let them know.

Year round. Only about $500 a year for "low" miles

I have State Farm. I pay for full coverage from April 15 to October 15. I pay for comprehensive coverage, about $20 / month, from October 16 to April 14. During this time, I can't drive it.

My Camaro is listed as a "recreational" vehicle. I have no restrictions on what I can do, I just have to have another car listed as "primary." I pay $65/mo just for the Camaro, $115/mo total. My insurance is Progressive.

I have Progressive and what they offer is a slight discount for storage time, in which i cannot drive it, but it still has to be fully covered and the discount only comes out to like $20-$25 a month.

Anyone know if Geico has this? 1300. a year here, full coverage, garaged,0 deductible, pleasure use only.
