Production has already begun! Rick Hendrick's #1 was built several days ago. A member of another forum reports his car #105 is built. They are reportedly building about 20 cars a day. :clap2:

I am thinking with regular production starting Monday there will be about 450 to 500 builds as of now, then next week an additional 750, which means somewhere around the 7th of September trucks will be loaded and will be heading toward dealerships over that weekend.

I know that means some will be shipped with less days of quality hold then seems reasonable, but there it is: my prediction, only time will tell if it is accurate.

Hendrick dealers are awful with regards to dealer markup.

That might be a little optimistic. ZL1's were held for 6 weeks in QC before they were released. The new Vette will have the same scrutiny if not more.

Saw a couple orders over on Corvetteforum a few orders have been shown as built but could be a mistake and the system and doesn't include QC.

Bring on the C7's! Can't wait to see some at my local Chevrolet dealership.

You are mistaken, those orders were given VINs by their dealers, actually one 006 was a dealer making the statement of a VIN he got, the other two were given to them by their dealers. Also there was information production started 8/20 @ 60 per day. Finally the GM tracking site for those orders shows Produced. No one knows about QC hold if any.

I don't follow, if someone looks up their vehicle on the tracking website and it shows produced does that not mean it has been built? Also QC holds may not be shown now but the way GM is taking this I'd expect one just to ensure the cars are right before they get sent out.

There is always a QC Hold. At the start of production it will be for several days to three weeks even if no problems come up. This is not Corvette specific but a common Chevy practice; I suspect it is an industry wide practice.

In addition, the shipping will start when there are enough builds to load about 100 to 150 car haulers.

When the C6 started regular production, every third cradle carried a build, then every other on the way to full production. We probably will not know until the book being written about the rebirth of the Stingray comes out if this is how C7 production started. My memory is the C6 was at full production rate in the middle of the first week of start.

What is the tracking website? I know mine is a ways off...but I'd like to check it out. Thanks!
