Hotel Pet Policy FYI

I plan on bringing my Aussie Shepherd to Fest. For anyone else wanting to bring their dogs here is their policy.

"Dear Adam,

Thank you for contacting Wyndham Hotels and Resorts Reservations regarding your request.

Pets are allow minimum of 2 per room with a $50.00 non-refundable fee plus a $10.00 per night per dog fee. No pit bulls or Rottweiler allowed. They are not allowed in the common areas.

We sincerely appreciate your choice of Wyndham Hotels and Resorts for your lodging needs. Thank you for using www.wyndham.com."

Mods is it cool if I bring her to the track also?

Ok! No pits or Rottie's allowed! That's BS! Wonder why that is! My neighbors got a mixed breed dog, lab and something else, that's much more meaner than my Rottie is! My Rottie would lick u to death before bite you!

I have a service dog, a German Shephard, he can go ANYWHERE I go.... its the law...He is now 100 lbs and 10 months old. And hotels cannot charge fees for service animals, another benefit

If you don't have two to bring, perhaps one of the local folks might provide you with a loaner?

I think they mean maximum of 2 pets per room.

Man, while it would be a blast to bring my GSD's along, they don't get to ride in my Camaro!

Otherwise, good info to know, for sure. Surprised they didnt list a weight limit!

Still can't figure why pits and Rottie's aren't allowed! Guess you can bring your Cane Corso's, Dobermans, Mastiffs, etc... but can't the other 2 breeds! Hmmmmm interesting!

I think we get your point. Take it up with them, if you don't like it.

I will! Even though mine isn't coming! It's just the point of them being prejudice of breed types and ill post back here and let you know their reasoning!

DandDC09 02-02-2013 10:44 PM

BSL's! People are ignorant, it's that simple! My two Pitts are the same as your Rotti... They will lick you to death! Not a mean bone in their bodies.... People teach them to be mean... They're not born that way! Ignorant A.H.'s...

We teach not to be racists or prejudice! Oh, except about dogs!....

The indianpolis area has had some issues with pitbulls the past few years. A few incidents as they say ruins it for everyone and in this case gives them a bad name. I am sure all these issues played a part in the hotels decision (not that I agree or disagree) just wanted to share this information.

You're not gonna hear complaints on poodles, chihuahua's and dachshund's.... All dogs that bite just as much! Just Not news worthy or can leave a mark w/o getting punted!.... It's pure discrimination because of their strength and appearance... They make wonderful dogs! Just train them like any other.... It's misinformed public, just like guns and gun control! They are like the AR, they look menacing and in the wrong hands, they can be! Handle them like you should and they will always be perfect!

You never hear about how they're used as service dogs, search and rescue(even used in 9/11 collapse), police dogs or even joyful pets! Look it up, they do exist!

Half the time, they're not even full Pitts or Rotts, but rather a mix breed... Or a very diluted full breed that some jackass bred family member after family member thinking they had some awesome full breed dog! Not! Lowering the gene level every time!

You're absolutely right though, a few ruin it for the rest, but the misinformed public should not be so quick to judge! Meet my two Pitts and I guarantee you might start to think differently about them!

All that said, it is their hotel and they have every right to be specific on not allowing certain ones in there! Although, very idiotic!

Sorry about the rant, but the topic irritates me so much and hits home hard! Especially knowing my wonderful dogs are one law away from being taken away if they pass a BSL on Pitts!

It's the owners lack of responsibility to raise the animal properly! It's the deed, not the breed!
