Nomenclature

OK, in a sixth generation 'vette, we all understand what a Z06 is. In a seventh generation 'vette would the equivalent be a Z07 ? Would what has been known as a Z07 on the sixth gen become a Z08 ? Is it just me or does it seem wrong to call a seventh generation a "Z06." Maybe I'm just crazy-ish. :der: |

For C6 gen:
Z06 came in 2006 Z07 was a package available for the Z06's and came in 2011 BUT... there were previous RPO Z07 packages... as early as 1991 on the C4 coupes IIRC. So yeah it also drives me nuts! :der: |
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Z06 has been worn by three generations. (history) It's just a name. Like ZR1, Z28, Z71, Z34.

Thanks Camaro Corvette, that was just the info I should have looked up.
Now I get it, the Z06 package has been around the block a good long time, not only on the sixth generation 'vettes. Z06 just means the next level of performance. For educating me I give you a :first: . |

Adding to the confusion, I believe the Z06 launched for the 2006 model year. A lot of people thought it would become the Z07 for the 2007 model year.

Z06 has been around as a performance package since 1957. |
I was talking about the C6 Z06.

Regardless, it would feel aesthetically more pleasing to me to have a Z07 package on my seventh gen Corvette. Wouldn't that make it a "Double 07." :drum: I'm here all week folks, try the veal. Now I just need to plant a new grove of money trees. |

They are naming the car after me. FYI. |

I place my bet on the C7 retaining the Z06 model name. |
Save the Z-07 badge for a AWD C7. :D
