2022 Bronco Raptor Teaser

Anyone want to make guesses on Powertrain?

Jim Farley posted the vid on his Twitter.

I'm gonna guess the 3.0EB the real question might be whether it'll include the hybrid system or not. The power increase would be nice but the added weight, not so much.

Not a 5.0 Coyote, which it should have had from day 1.
Seriously, open the hood of a Bronco and it looks like a bed of snakes. F' that!

Not sure if it would be worth it, from a development and profit point of view. Honestly, I'll take any ICE offering before these things all go full electric.

I am sure it will be "nice" but no...

Ford also officially announced it today at their press conference at Motor Bella. They didn’t speak about the powertrain. Just confirmed that there will be a Bronco Raptor.

Isn't Rubicon a Badlands competitor? You can add on Extreme Recon just like adding on Sasquatch. Raptor seems like it should be a step higher than that.

While the 392's 470hp@6000rpm and 470tq@4200rpm is a healthy lead over even the current base 3.0EB's 400hp@5500rpm and 415tq@3500rpm. The Hybrid's 494hp@5500rpm and 620tq@3000rpm isn't anything to sneeze at.

The issue is the weight penalty. In Aviator the hybrid system adds something like 780lbs. Bronco already tops similar Wrangler trims by like 50lbs trim to trim. So using it would be nothing more than a Pyrrhic victory for Ford. But to be fair, the general public might not see it that way as all they'll see is HYBRID and the higher output numbers without taking into account the whole picture.

Shouldn't they be more concerned with shipping all their current Bronco orders first?

Pretty sure it will be either the 2.7T or the 3.5TT. I drove a Bronco with 2.3T at Motor Bella last week. Surprisingly strong. I thought it was the 2.7T at first, but the vehicle guardian assured me it was a 2.3T.

I only figured the 3.0 over the 3.5 seeing as it's packaging shouldn't be any different than the 2.7. I wonder if the 2nd gen 3.5EB with it's 450/510 would fit as easily as the 3.0EB.

Ford: Bronco Badlands, Wildtrak and Raptor
Mopar: Durango and Grand Cherokee--SRT and Trackhawk, Wrangler Rubicon and 392 with optional Extreme Recon Package

GM: A resurrection of the Blazer that is nothing more than a soccer mom CUV made to haul groceries and occasionally take your grandmother to a doctor's appointment.

As a lifelong GM owner, I simply don't get it. Hey Barra, you still have plenty of loyal customers that enjoy performance and off-road capabilities. Your bland, boredom machines are very off-putting. :noidea:
