Stock Eagle F1 tire wear question

I tried using the search function but get a dead page every time I try.

Not really sure if this belongs in the Tires section. or the 1LE section.. so I leaned this way.
Went to get my oil changed today at the dealer and they "warned me" that my rear tires were "in the danger zone".
My tires have about 6000 miles on them, mostly freeway, not really driven aggressively, never broken them loose.
They tried to tell me that they warn at below 4/32. I checked the tires specs and they claim 8/32 new.
I look at them and they don't really look any different than they did new. My guess is that they don't see these kinds of tires very often (Chrysler dealer) and are not used to them. I had people commenting that my tires were gone when the car was literally brand new... They ARE glorified racing slicks..
I don't expect to get much more than 15k (ish) out of them but down to 4/32 in 6000 miles??
My reference point are the P Zeroes on my 2010 Camaro, I got about 18k out of them driving the same.
Anyone else experience this?
When I do replace them I'm going with MPSS' anyway.. I'm not upset, just thinking about it and thought I'd ask the question.

Dealer probably doesn't know. Already as new they look like they are almost done. I've got 22k on mine and they are just about done now.

Plenty of life left. Be careful in the rain. My local Chevy dealer tried telling me that that the tires would fail inspection when I had 1000 miles on the odometer and brought the car in for an alignment issue (steering wheel wasn't straight from the factory).

Some of the guys at my dealership don't know the difference between a Camaro and a Land Rover ... so I generally ignore most of the drivel that comes out of their mouth.

Stop by a auto parts stop and get a tire tread gauge. You should be fine for another 4 or 5 thousand miles but you will not get close to what the Pirelli's got.

Thanks for the posts, that's what I was thinking, just good to get some feedback from people that actually know what the hell they're talking about...

10 to 12k is average for me on f1s. I drive hard as hell though

Get the MPS4S, the MPSS is being replaced by them. I had the MPSS and the MPS4S is allot better.

Does this only work with a 2010 penny?
:pop2:

I'm at 13,000 miles, and haven't even thought about replacing my rears. The fronts look brand new. #needtodoatrackday

This has worked for decades with a penny

If you are at 13K and your fronts look brand new, turn more!

I know, need to tear into those fronts. Living in Indiana doesn't give me much opportunities to turn. I have to go out of my way to find good roads. Hate this state.

I grew up in Illinois, so I know what you mean! Moved from there to the north GA mountains and had a blast! Now living in coastal GA, so back to flat land, but at least we have warm weather and an ocean!

My rear GY's had 7000miles on them and they were done... I was very surprised as I almost never spun them or abused them ! The front GY's are still safe with 14000miles. I have a pair of MT''s street comp on the back now and they're about equal. I have a set on MPSS's waiting to go on all 4 corners. I know they won't stick like the stock GY's buthe the ride will be better and no temperasure issues.
