Welcome unavailable.

I thought I might have a free weekend coming up, but my son might have nixed that. Hoping he has not caused catastrophic engine damage to a second Cavalier. I'm too tired tonight to mess with it.

Hope it's not serious Rick. My son called me yesterday and said his brake pedal was going almost all the way to the floor and sent me this pic. Then my wife called and said there was a puddle of oil under his left rear tire. I was hoping to have an easy Friday afternoon. Now it looks like I'll be doing a rear brake job on his truck.....UGH!!! :pout:

My son thought the reason his oil light was on was a bad sensor! Needless to say he destroyed the engine!

Of course he wanted me to fix if.

Talk about car shows, going to the Good Guys annual car show at Del Mar which is in San Diego. Over 2500 hundred classics and hot rods and rat rods, so much fun and a lot of eye candy.:thumbup::happy0180:

So, would it be a horrible thing to take my 2015 Camaro with ceramic treatment through a car wash? Being SO old, I don't feel like using my old age energy to wash this car every time it's semi dirty. I haven't taken it through a car wash ever and am thinking it's best to keep it that way. I'm just wondering if anyone else does or has.
I use a couple of seemingly decent ones in my area but on my leased 2016 Impala LTZ with that pearlescent white paint job. Always looks good and I finish off the drying and wheels myself.
Also I'm guessing I'm posting this in the wrong way or something....
Thanks

Just passing through. Hope to see you all at Camarofest. Plan to attend with friends from Gateway Camaro Club (St. Louis). All the best!

Hi new guys!

My son handled his repairs himself. Took it to a shop, they diagnosed it, and $270 later, it's good as new. Nothing major, and he paid for it himself.

I was hoping to finish the front brake job on my Dakota tonight. Even stayed home instead of going to a car cruise. But finding a correct front wheel stud for it is becoming challenging.

That's great news Rick! Unfortunately, I was not able to get the rear drum off of my son's pickup - So it will be going to Chevrolet tomorrow morning.

I am facing the same problem. I have never & have said I would never take my Camaro through any kind of a car wash. They are very damaging to the soft water based paint. But my recent & worsening back problems have left me having great difficulty hand washing it. Thinking about washing it today but it is such a huge job & I always hurt several days afterward. Good luck deciding.

Have a great time! Some of my buddies are there working the auction.

Looks like we get to spend some big $$ replacing our AC system, which involves 2 outdoor compressors and 2 coils upstairs where the furnace and exchangers are. AC systems last about 10 - 15 years here in Phoenix, and ours is 11 years old. During the past 3 years, we've had to do some repairs to they AC, so it is probably time. I'm getting a mini-split for the garage too. Gets HOT in there during the summer, when I want to work on the cars.

70rsz28 04-06-2017 01:38 PM

Trickskier enjoy the auction

Rick probably have to replace our ac this year ours is 17 yrs old but we don't have your weather .they don't make things to last anymore

I've noticed that as I get older. Things just don't last as long or keep on working as good as they use to. :word:

RubyCamaro 04-06-2017 05:10 PM

Have fun Trick!

I know it is not fun having to pay out the $ for the AC Rick but you will be glad this summer!

Hang on gang. The weekend is almost here.

I've been celebrating the anniversary of my 45th birthday for 20 some years now and I still look as good as I did 20 minutes ago. Wish I could remember where I was going with this.

They say if you get 15 years out of an AC unit here in the Phoenix metro area, you are doing good.

Thanks Everyone! Dad and I enjoyed the auction. We were surprised how much general admission went up for seniors! It went from $8 to $30 per person!!! :eyebulge:

Here's a few pics - Still not sold on the ZL1/1LE. The large wing makes it too much like a ricer........

So how many "OLD FARTS" are attending Camaro Fest? I'm on the fence about attending. My wife isn't sure she wants to go and it's a long trip by myself.

69supersport396 04-11-2017 10:48 AM

Love those old 928's!

I'm not going to Camaro Fest this year. My wife isn't in to muliple-day car activities and wouldn't go with me. If CF were a bit closer one year, I'd go. :iono:

For $9,700 I would have bought the 928!

That's my dilemma 550 Miles!

camaromike77 04-13-2017 09:02 AM

I was seriously considering Camaro Fest, but looks like most of the "close" Hotels are booked full. My wife isn't really "into it", and it's a LONG drive for me as well. Plus we just got a new dog last week and she is a handful!!!!

Next year for sure! :happy0180:

Cool! Look me up RCT!

My son showed up to Easter dinner today with a leased 50th Anniversary SS. He changes cars more than I change my mind but it was cool. I got to drive it & had me a permagrin. He also brought me flowers! Here are some pics & some of the Easter Feast at the in-laws house. (Sorry, Darn C5 won't let you rotate the pics correctly!)

69supersport396 04-16-2017 11:58 PM

Jan,you are making me hungry again. ;)

Okay Ol' Fart friends, I'm asking here first for a little help. The leather is coming off Ruby's steering wheel. :frown: I'll post pics below. It appears it had been glued with a tiny bit of glue. It is loose from the stitching at the top edge, along the inside & across the bottom. Should be simple enough to glue back but what kind of glue should I use?

69supersport396 04-20-2017 04:15 PM

Gotta see if this good stuff I use is for leather. Works awesome on plastic.
