Who owns a <ahem> Mustang and/or Challenger?

Might as well complete the who owns what on this general section... so who owns any from the other rival side(s) of Camaro5?

At a local charity car show late last year... but maybe next time I can have a C7 here :D

:lalala:

Don't make me sell/trade-in my Boss for a new Stingray! :fish:

Gotta love these new emoticons... :car: :D

rmnc3r 01-22-2013 09:05 PM

ZedEllOne and a Challenger SRT8 here!
Looking forward to possibly adding a C7 in '15.
I had a '10 SS and loved the car but since it was early-mid production, it had some teething issue; the ZedEllOne replaced it.

Stingray 01-22-2013 09:56 PM

^ ZL1, SRT8... a C7 in a year or so... nice! Just add a Shelby and you got a grand slam. :D

Vette TPI 01-22-2013 09:58 PM

I'd just be happy to keep the 87 and get a 2014 :humble:

I can relate. Wish I still had my '88 Trans Am GTA... had it since new until '92. College years back then so as the story goes, just fond memories nowadays...

 I almost got a 88 GTA in black, but decided not since the Corvette was in better condition.

Mustang owner here. Unfortunately, the news of the C7 has completely ruined all of my modding plans :D . Gonna save it all up now for a downpayment on a Stingray in maybe 2015 or so. Gonna be sick

Stingray 01-23-2013 07:18 AM

I'm glad I'm not the only Mustang owner who also appreciates other fine brands of wheels... then again I'm also fond of many other high-performance cars. Strange... always been a Chevy and Pontiac enthusiast... fell for the new 5.0 powerplant and changed my outlook on Mustangs. But this C7 Stingray is must have... if Chevy didn't significantly change it from gen 6 to gen 7, I likely even wouldn't consider buying a new Vette.

I certainly wouldn't. I'd be holding out on the gen6 camaro. I think they nailed this one.

If I owned a 5.0 I would lean much closer to trading it in for a C7... what's holding me back is being an orig owner of a Boss 302 especially since I got a good deal on it. Always been a fan of limited and/or specialty edition cars. The all new Vette is a whole new playing field though... love the change. :stingray:

The ZL1 seems to maintain is incredible horsepower advantage, in not weight disadvantage, so I believe the base corvette will not keep up with a ZL1. yes, it will be close. But not assured. The next version up will take care of business. Unless by that time a newly announced Z/28 is upon us. I give that announcement to be no later than say June 2013 for the 2014 Model Year. Now, if the announce a Gen5 version, we are now overdue using the LS7 cold air induction, 520 HP Camaro. That will certainly mix it up with NO overheating issues. Those two will be what my choice is all about. Not jumping til I see both

A base C6 is faster than a ZL1, so a base C7 (lighter and more power) will be faster too! :)

Nothing wrong with your Boss! It's a great car! Would like to have one. Even the 5.0 GT is a great little car for the money. I used to own a 2006 GT. Traded it for my 08 LS3 Corvette.

And to be honest the GT500 might be a good alternative to the C7. In fact depending on what the C7 price tag comes in along with that dealer price adjustment the GT500 might just be the best bang for the buck. those are going for MSRP or less in many areas of the country. And 450 hp vs. 662 hp. I think the Corvette looks great but if you own one and find yourself looking at GT500 rear license plates then maybe the C7 isn't such a great choice for a racer.

Your comparing the GT500 to a base vette?
Do you understand the implications when the "true" comparable C7 debuts?:noidea:

This thing will whip exotics.....much less a gt:D

No, only comparing bang for the buck! If the C7 comes with 450 hp it won't accelerate or top end as fast as a 662 hp GT500.

Im talking pricing. The Z06 version is the one to compare and even then...there is NO comparison. Like comparing apples to knitted sweaters.

Its like that:D
