Love the "pups"

I'm in a major kitchen renovation - I'll post some pics when I get my lap top back.....

Hey crew. I have been back home a few days recuperating. Today I played with crafts all day. Trying to figure out what to do with myself the rest of the month before I have to go back to work. Practice for retirement I guess. I'll post up some pics of my projects when I get them finished. The club has an event planned for the weekend but weather does not look promising. Ruby SERIOUSLY needs a bath. Sitting around under the carport for a month has her buried in dust. Rain /storms all week & into the weekend predicted so not sure when that will happen. I had fun with the sisters. I'm glad my daughter is on the road to recovery. I must say though it is good to be back home.

Thanks!

Got my first Chevelle inquiry today. I never expect much from someone that tries to negotiate before even seeing the car. My reply was, " will consider a reasonable offer". His other questions were entirely addressed in my ad.

Had someone come out to see the Impala on Friday and haven't heard back from them since.

If you'd like to check out some 4th of July photos I shot from my balcony, follow the below link and click on the thumbnails.

Glad to see everyone is doing well. I have not been on vacation yet but I have been on line a little less just enjoying the summer. My vacation is planned for August and if things go well I will retire in 7 more years.

nbryant 07-07-2016 07:45 PM

No vaca here though I have 3 weeks built up at work and have to burn it up soon. Retiring? Looking to punch my ticket just after turning 62, in 4 years. Would be a second retirement after having retired a long time ago after 20 years in the Corps.

Awesome pictures, thanks for sharing. Really enjoyed going to cruise nights when I was stationed in Hawaii. Not a enough car enthusiasts in the small town we now live in for cruise nights or car clubs, have to travel 80 miles South to Vegas.

I know how you feel, I can either go to Summit Racing when they have a Chevy meet ... which is like once a season ... in between the other car shows. And then there is trying to find a place to park that's not an hour's walk away ... OR ... I can drive ~2 hours from Akron to Columbus, where not only can you park in the middle of the action, the Coffee shop is only a few yards away, there are more than enough cars to make it interesting, yet it's small enough that you don't 'get lost' in the crowd and can meet some really cool people.

I think I'll take the 126.2 mile / ~2 hour drive and go to the smaller, slower-paced show where you can actually get to talk to the other car owners and they're not too stuck up to really talk to you.

Don't blame you, I like the smaller shows/gatherings better myself for the same reasons

Nice photos rick and trick !! Man those new stands at Daytona are way up there. Look higher from the top down than from the bottom up.

That 70 and 1/2 is one bad looking car with that R/S trim. How long have you owned that car Richard ??

I finally got my first day off since April 1st. Went to church to hear our new preacher. She is a younger gal in her late 20's and was a very impressive speaker. Then took the ZL1 out for a run to khol's so the better half could do some returns. On the way back I talked her into letting me open it up on a nice flat four lane that has no cross traffic for a full mile (no one can get out in front of you by mistake). When got to 150 she said that didn't take very long and look how fast the telephone poles are going by. Cook some steaks on the grill. It was a good day.

Well Dale Jr. not running at New Hampshire this weekend cause of the 2 concussions he's had. Jeff Gordan will be running the 88.

That's not exactly correct. Alex Bowman will be driving the 88 this weekend at New Hampshire. If Dale Jr. is not back for the Brickyard 400 then Jeff Gordon will drive the 88 at Indianapolis.

The local car show in our park was Saturday. I got second place in the 55 to 59 with the 57 corvette. Got beat by a very nice restored 56 Chevy.

Trick -- the golf/lightning shot reminds me of the caddy shack scene.

Took a picture of a street rod at the car show. Thought everyone would find it interesting. Not my thing but very neat.

John

DonM 07-18-2016 02:48 AM

Street Rods aren't really my thing either, BUT you can see that a lot of time and effort was put into this one and it really looks nice.

That's great John - That must have been one clean 56 Belair to beat your Corvette!

This is kinda funny to me. I have interest in the Chevelle from Palm Beach, FL and interest in the Impala from Orange, CA.

Good to have interest in both at the same time. My favorite replacements are in NJ and IL. Second place interest is in PA and SC. No wonder Reliable Auto Transport and Intercity Lines are busy.

A buddy is going to check out the car in NJ for me. I trust him.

Just need to see some cash. :)
