Tire temp monitor a waste lol

It never showed cold even when tires temp was 36 degrees. Now that the outside temp is 27 degrees & tires r the same.. In the morning it showed cold tires & showed cold for the whole 7 mile drive. I get out check tire temp with my IR temp sensor & it shows tire is 77 degrees.
Seems like it goes by outside temp. Or only resets when u shut off the car

IIRC, doesn't it calculate via algorothim?

Hard for me to monitor changes down here where I am since it's always warm or hot outside! :D

Algorithm is off lol. Found it weird... When I got car back from service & started it. It showed tires warm & stayed warm even though tires were now colder then when I arrived..
GM said calculates from TPM sensor microchip temp, IAT, Coolant temp, & outside air temp..

Sounds like the engineers, metrologists, or whatever team who worked on the algorithms must have been too busy watching Nurburgring lap vids... always warm/hot! :headbang:

Only shows cold under 32°.. doesnt seem to change temp till car is shut off & turned back on.
Im sure Hot wont display till tire over 160° & car is shut off & turned back on. GM was no help I gave up.

Yep. Haven't noticed the temp change in nearly 1300 miles. No idea what to make of it other than the sensors aren't getting refreshed until startup.
