Dash logic and Service Power Steering

Been having EPS issues for a while now, and did the following to alleviate it.

Ground wire:
- Trunk
- Bell Housing
- Engine
- Cleaned/Roughed Up EPS ground connection
New Battery replaced early April of this year.

Thought this will fix it, but nope. Probably comes on 1-2x a week when I do get a chance to drive it. The battery is always hooked up to a tender also. I read somewhere that if you have something connected to the OBD2 port it could trigger this. I do have my dash logic hooked up. Do you guys think this can affect it? I did scan for codes and no codes show up.

What problems are you having? And the dash logic probably won't pull BCM or Chassis codes which is where a EPS code would probably reside. If they don't reside in the EPS module itself.

Service power steering is my problem. I know my dash logic won't pull codes in anyway shape or form. I'm asking if my dash logic, when connected, could cause the service power steering issue. I wouldnt even know if it could.

I think even devices that are "only" reading off the CAN are still having to send request for the data, so it's not impossible.

So I've taken the car out 2 days straight for about an hour or so without the dash logic..and nothing popped up.

I had the same problem after having Dashlogic plugged in for several months. I unplugged it and never had the problem again. My guess is that under circumstances it interferes OBD2 CAN :noidea: Maybe try an OBD2 splitter.

After removing it, I've only had the issue happen 2x, compared to the daily occurrence. Still baffled why it's still having the issue.

Being the problem is still happening with the Dashlogic removed and that you addressed all grounding points maybe it’s the connection harness socket… check for fraying and try applying some carbon conductive (not dialectric) grease

Thanks. I'll that out.

I forgot to mention too that this only started when I had a really bad crank seal leak from my original motor. Ever since it's been intermittent.

You’re welcome. Good Luck! Post back with an update.

Daily occurrence now. No issues with wiring.

I got nothing else to offer. Maybe EPS unit is actually bad. Does car go into limp mode ?

Nope. When it turns on, I pull over, turn the car off for 5 min, and turn it back on. No issues.
