I've had my xbox for a couple years now and it's still alive.
I won't be getting the 720, though. Not yet at least. |

I'm looking forward to the blu-ray (finally!) Microsoft has hinted at the 720 being the end all for your home network, Internet, seamless file sharing needs ect. They want that one box to control everything. Ie being able to play a game in a room minus the console similar to dvr technology. We will see. Nerd rant over. |
I heard from someone that it won't have Blue-Ray..

My Xbox is about 3 years old now. Never had any problems with it.

Even if my Xbox decided to die, I'd probably get another.
Playstation's just...eh. The only game I'd ever play is Gran Turismo. Xbox simply has better titles. |

Well luckily I haven't had a problem.
The key is ventilation. I've always had mine sitting horizontally on top of a shelf with nothing above it. Well right now there's a Lego Space Shuttle, three cows, a killer whale, and an Impala 9C1 sitting on it, but I digress. |
Mines sitting vertically.
