I believe the AFM only activates during Eco/weather mode (and maybe tour), if so it might be nice to keep for any long drives.

Also, looking at how the throttle body pivots forward into that air vent that exits over the hood, does it sort of already have a CAI?

:clap2: for everyone's comments, they are all great ideas.

For the guys that are wanting to make it go faster, what is your goal for horsepower and times in the 1/4 mile? :stingray:

I don't have a specific power level goal. I do a lot of work on sportbikes and know that, aside from making more power, a well done engine build will just plain run better, making for a more enjoyable ride.

Regarding the AFM; I've never driven a car with it and would probably keep it to save a few bucks here and there as mine will be a daily driver but I've heard bad things about it on the Camaro forum so I'll just have to see for myself.

Concerning the CAI; I've never seen a stock intake system that I couldn't improve upon.

I probably will not touch a thing. At least for the first year or two. If I keep it longer, I'm sure I'll start looking into power mods, or a newer version of it...

I will be looking for the first opportunity to get on the track with it. Blackhawk Farms in South Beloit, IL looks like it has plenty of track days.
Take many driving trips with it, want to go to as many National Parks as we can.
Tires, brakes, oil changes but no modifications. The more you do the less you get. If you want more horsepower wait for the Z06.

Gotcha. I'm sure the factory intake will be restricted somehow.

I sure do hope the new AFM is better than the 2010 Camaro's... I had AFM shut off in the tune because it was god-awful. Made highway driving kind of obnoxious with this skull-resonating drone, ran rough, and in general made the car more lathargic. V-8 only mode completely changed the car for me.

After pulling out the dealer lot... I would probably drive real slow... for all the world to gawk and admire (or despise, for you haters)... I'd be in shock I'd have to drive 10mph!

WesC5 02-23-2013 12:27 PM

Watch my baby come off the truck. And not let the dealer do a doggone thing to her as far as "prepping" her. No touchy, touchy!! :nono:

And like Stingray....drive her slow for all to see....and very carefully to the garage. Then spend the next couple days "prepping" her....caressing her and sleeping with her....before "turning her loose"..

Thankfully the wifey understands...and has allowed me to always have a "garage mistress" these past 39 years.....

I like to see all the posts in this thread. Gives us a great idea of what to pursue. We may have products available sooner than expected!

Falundir 02-26-2013 02:31 PM

I will be driving straight to SS Customs for a 3M Clear on front fascia, hood, mirrors and rear quarters.
