Buyers BEWARE!!!

I Purchased my 2SS on December 12 , I didn't follow the procedure of fully checking over my Car , I have a Thread
( I'm so pissed ) in the warranty problem category. After months of going back and forth, The dealership and chevrolet have decided to not trade my car for a properly painted 50k sticker sports car. Now they want me to take or leave them repainting my car and me losing my warranty for the paint .
Don't just assume like I did that your car is what it should be!!. Be aware that this is a mass production vehicle and people just don't always do their job. Also the Dealership and Chevrolet don't stand by their customers and the product, if you sign the contract and then find something wrong they will not completely stand by their product and do the right thing. This is my 2nd Vehicle in a year that I've had nothing but problems with , I'm ashamed to say that I've been a long standing customer and have supported Chevrolet and other GM products since I was able to Drive SOO ,,,, Buyers BEWARE!!!!!

BUYER beware is correct. You're not the only one here who failed to inspect their car well at delivery (Netslave)

Time for a lawyer.

Delivery checklist in the pricing forums. PRINT IT AND TAKE IT WITH YOU TO THE DEALER. If anything is messed up, refuse delivery!

please it is a stretch to say this is a 50K car, and Tesla without government support and rebates would be out of business and I'm sorry I can't afford a 100K car. With 2K insurance and on a good day a 240 mile range before I have to plug it in overnight. Sorry give me a dinosaur.

Yes for sure I feel stupid

oldman 04-04-2016 12:51 PM

yawn, did you pay that much? Probably not, like I said a stretch and you are at the very top end, fine never said otherwise. It still is a Chevy production car so I'll leave it at that. My reply was to the Tesla rant. I hope you get a problem worked out.

Word to the wise is to check the car before you buy it.

This is why I have very little brand loyalty when it comes to cars.

Maybe Subaru and Toyota are the brands that I trust but even then there is still human error.

Thankfully, the two warranty jobs that are getting done for me Tomorrow are likely minor (USB Connectors not working and a high-pitched rattle in the dash on certain kinds of pavement).

Other folks have gotten replacements. It may take work, but I wouldn't let them paint anything without getting with a lawyer and or checking out the lemon laws in your state. I know I'm getting tired of hearing about all the issues with this new car. A car with paint issues should never make it out of the factory. That tells me they don't care.

Good luck to you.

Thank you much appreciated

Lets not blame the buyer, GM fanboys. This guy bought a brand new car from a legit dealership. The dealer and the manufacturer need to make this right. Thats what a warranty is for. So you don't have to drag the car around for inspections and second opinions on it's condition. You just drive it off the lot and if something is defective it gets taken care of. Otherwise why buy a brand new car.

Get a lawyer OP. This is in no way your fault.

oldman 04-04-2016 12:58 PM

all cars have problems, we don't know how bad this paint problem is, we do know there are OCD people. Me I had cars like forged piston Z/28s, slight pop from the rear? Are you kidding me? I put the optional chambred exhaust on, all radio listening and talking stopped at that point cause it was useless. But I understand, a 50K 2ss driver probably thinks this is a BMW coupe. I owned two of those also a 2000 CS and a 2800 CS both cost more than double my Z/28 maybe even more. A down payment on a nice home for sure.
