here is a report that says we might see the firebird with the new maro.

From that article, it does sound possible. Personally, I don't mind. I, like many other Camaro enthusiasts, have my heart set on one brand and one specific model. If Pontiac revives the Firebird, good for them. In fact, I like the idea of a wide variety of musclecars out on the roads. I'm stickin w/ my baby, though. It's either a new Camaro or I'm keeping my SS.

i dont know if a firebird is revived it should look diffrent then the camaro if they do just the front end change is no diffrent on getting either or. it would hurt sales for both cars

When I first saw the Camaro concept and heard of it's high probability it would be coming out, I immediatly went to Google and typed in '2009 Firebird', and after a few weeks of the initial unveiling somebody posted more than a few pictures on CarDomain. Where the guy got them all I have no idea but CarDomain deleted his page since he didn't actually own the car. It's a shame because I still haven't been able to find that many pictures of a possible Firebird variation. I personally would go for a WS6 or something else entirely... I'll admit that new Volvo hatch looks pretty damn cool.

They've evidently killed the GTO along with the Chevy SSR. All I know is they'll either have a new version of the GTO out within a couple years or they'll throw the Firebird in... Pontiac is supposed to have a high performance rear-wheel drive coupe and it's missing right now.

i think it looks too much like a 70's trans am. they need to do something with it to make it look like the 69 style. there kind of adding generations together and it messed up the whole theme of the car

There may be a 'Firebird' at some point, but I belive Pontiac will bring back a more retro inspired 'GTO' first.

I would think GM will wait and see how sales of the 'Camaro' go before they offer another car so similar. I think the better the sales for 'Camaro', the better possibility of the 'Firebird' returning.

I would take that black t/a over the camaro in a second if they made it and it looked like that. The blue one isn't too bad either. It's amazing what people can do with photoshop.

I've read that the GTO should come back in 08 with a new body style. If they used the Camaro bodystyle (with some obvious changes) and called it a GTO, that just would be weird. They would have to change it a lot to make that one work. I think they would go for the Firebird or T/A before they used that for the GTO.
