V8 Engine Options
What V8's do you think we are going to see in the production Camaro? :iono:
|
if they make the ZL1 they will put that ls7 in it. no doubt in my mind. also to guys you think that the price of the ls7 won't come down by 2009? technology will move forward and the manufacturing process will become more streamlined and that will drive costs down. so I can see the LS7 being in the car for less then 12k which is the price of the engine alone.

what the hell is this lsx shit?
|
think the lsx means a different ls motor that isn't known about like the ls3, ls9 or wot not.
|
I've heard "LS3" and "LS9" engines mentioned...but nothing specifically.
I read an article in the Nov. issue of 'Motor Trend' which may "shed some light". The article was 'Chevy's secret Impala', and the engines mentioned may give a clue as to what will be available in the new Camaro. They are; 3.6 liter V6, 5.3 liter V8, and a 6.2 liter V8. |
as of now i think the ls2 but im sure they will have a new style motor out to put in the car like a 6.2 liter

I'm all about that 6.3 3-valve 470hp engine they tested that was mentioned in another thread on here.

Hell put the rumor LS9 8.3L 900hp engine in the top model like this article suggest.  http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60

The LS9 would be amazing but it's out of most peoples price range and I'm sure they'd rather put that in a Z06 and put the LS7 in the Camaros.
|
I just hope that the base V8 model will be a minimum 400 hp. We know GM will have to be competitive w/ Ford's GT at 25K. That would be a great starting point and then we could just move up from there.

25 maybe for 6.0 with no power options and cloth int. and a tape player. AWESOME!!!

I'm surfing late at night as usual. I'm starting to believe a post I read about these engine options. Dude says he has very reliable information that neither the LS2 nor LS7 are going into the new Concept and that they will, for sure, be completely new engines offered in the Concept. It makes sense to me seeing as though they are constantly woking on new engines...not to mention that we even have the diesels that will be coming available in two to three years. I'm not saying that they are going to put in a diesel engine. I'm the last person to know that. But, they really have us guessing. I'm sure whatever it is, they won't let us down.

ihope the SS has the LS7 and the Z has the LS2
