[CA][Track Car] FS: 2018 6MT Red Hot ZL1 1LE w/ half cage and bucket seats

15 Attachment(s)
**SOLD**

After putting out a feeler for this car almost three years ago, it's finally time for me to let it go. Since 2022, I race a Spec E46 in NASA. With some recent life changes, I don't have the time to track two cars anymore :pout:. This car has only seen two track days since 2022. Otherwise just mild highway use about every two weeks. It's been very difficult for me to make the decision to sell, because the car is really the perfect HPDE/TT car.

Car is located in Mountain View, CA. I would prefer a sale to someone who will use it for its intended purpose -- the track! They don't make these cars anymore.. :(

- 2018 Camaro ZL1 1LE
- Approximately 21k miles (weekend mix: highway and track)
- Clean title in hand
- Second owner

I've invested a lot into this car to make it the ideal HPDE/TT car, but without compromising on reliability.

Great setup! Jealous of your trailer especially!

I’ve been following you on YT. Have had some great races! In fact, you’ve got me wondering about spec racing. I currently race Lemons and HPDE. I may start TT but maybe Spec raving is the better move?!

If you don’t mind the question, is spec racing more or less expensive per year than tracking your ZLE? Would love to hear any experience you care to share!

Absolutely a bargain. :confused0068: Most people do not understand all the effort and money it takes to make these cars a true track car. GLWS. :thumbup:

Spec racing is awesome. It's the best way to have a true "driver's race" where you are not pouring all your time and money into developing the car. You just race. There is a big enough community that there are no unknowns with the car. Spec E46 in particular is great in that it makes for great sprint racing and great endurance racing. My car has seen ~40 hours of endurance and ~20 hours of sprint racing and has had zero problems.

From a parts perspective, spec racing is cheaper than tracking a Camaro -- it's just physics. The Spec E46 is 2850 lbs minimum with 225 whp maximum. I have 40+ hours on my front brake pads and they still have probably 10-20 hours of life left in them. The tires are 255/40/17 which are a lot cheaper than 305/30/19.

However, the support cost of racing is much higher. Unless you have your own tow rig, tools, spares, etc., then you likely pay a shop for storage, labor, transport, and support (which I do). In the end, doing it that way comes out to be more expensive than HPDE with the Camaro.

Thank you for the kind words!

Thanks for the great detail, Mark! That sure does sound enticing! I’d love to come out and watch a race in person. Mind sharing where I can view the event calendar?

Price drop! $65k for everything!

Nawambo 01-31-2024 07:10 PM

WOW! I'm an "intermediate" HPDE guy. Would love this... just a little out of my price point and I'm in Virginia, joked with my kid that we would fly out and drive it back. Amazing. Best of luck to you!

R3ctivision 03-13-2024 11:08 AM

Price drop, $61k for everything! Would also consider selling things separately, please make an offer if interested.

* Tire trailer (+ 6th gen hidden hitch)
* Apex wheelset
* Forgeline wheelset

Those of you who have built your own track setups, you know this is a steal. Please help spread the word to get this setup to a good home. :)

Also -- car still covered by GM extended warranty which is transferrable to a new owner. They just covered brand new replacement front Multimatic struts!

Driv200 03-31-2024 07:52 PM

Wow. This caught my eye. Got to ask about the oil pump? And the replaced struts. I am just starting a search for a streetable track car. Like the cage and the extra set of wheels. And your suspension upgrades. Was avoiding pre ‘19 cars. Any e85 tune or other mods. All track miles?

Thanks. Feel free to PM.

It’s killing me that I don't have a place to park that trailer!
