Remotely Interested? GM Makes Remote Start / Door Unlock Standard on 2014 Models

GM is now making tedious chores like starting cars, activating horns and lights and unlocking doors all possible with its new RemoteLink Key Fob Services mobile app, which is a subset of services already available via the full RemoteLink mobile app.

(Even if you don’t opt to pay for the other OnStar services)

Like other cars, remote start works on automatic transmissions only. Historically automatics have been 2/3's of Corvettes.

I was able to use Hyundai's BlueLink App (the first of these services) to turn on my 2013 Genesis Coupe remotely from my room before heading down the elevator to the parking garage. In the summer and in the winter, it was nice to walk over to the car already running and hop in at ideal temperature with the music playing, from well beyond a key fob's short range.
