Airline question

Hello,

Next year, I'll fly to Las Vegas.
Finally again.http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/...lies/smile.gif Almost 2 years without the U.S.http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/...lies/sad-1.gif

I'm considering also to travel to Los Angeles for some days.
But I'm unsure how.http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/...e-s_head-2.gif
Either I'll take the bus (Lux Bus America) or I'll take the plane.

If I take the bus, I think I'll see a lot of America but I have read some not so good reviews about Lux Bus America.

Or I'll travel there by plane.
Then is the question what is the best airline in order to fly to Los Angeles.

Can anyone please give me an Airline recommendation?http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/...lies/blush.gif

At the moment, I think that Vigin Airlines would a good choice.

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

Have a great day.
Mario

Personally I'm a fan of Southwest as long as you plan on paying for the early board option ($12.50 each way). That way you can get A boarding.

Have a good trip.

No way I would take a bus. Either rent a car and drive or fly Southwest. Tickets are reasonable and they only fly 737s so you don't have to worry about flying in some crop duster.

:word: southwest is the best way to fly - tickets are reasonable and the planes are good. Only down side is the boarding process

If you're just traveling to LA for a few days rent a car as you will want some wheels when you get there.

And before you fly to Vegas check out www.seatguru.com Lots of good information on flights and seating there.

I have some relatives that come here from OC pretty regularly and they like lux bus. They have said the seats are small though. (They are on airplanes too though)

Southwest is fine but always packed full. Virgin is really nice. I like jet blue as well.

That was one of the most politely worded OPs I've ever read! You Europeans are awesome

I say Southwest!

At first, thank you very much for all your replies.http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/...lies/smile.gif

Southwest looks good.
But I don't know - there is no seat reservation possible.http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/...milies/sad.gif
Hmm, I'll fly to Los Angeles with a work colleague. I think he would not be pleased to sit separate from me in case the plane is fully occupied.

And the risk - in case the most passengers choose the "Early Board Option" - is actually too high for me.

On the other hand, no extra charges for our suitcases. Let's see what we'll do.

That would be great - If I wouldn't be such a "coward".http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/...lies/blush.gif
I think I'm not brave enough to drive by car to LA.
Or do we absolutely need a car in LA? We are planning to visit the Universal Studios Hollywood, Six Flags and Disneyland Anaheim.

Americans are fantastic!

Thanky you very much Scooter11,

I have learned that in the U.S.http://i1232.photobucket.com/albums/...ilies/wink.gif

Until now, I have spent unfortunately only 30 days in the U.S. (Las Vegas) and what I miss most of all, is the kindness and cordialness of Americans. It is simply unbelievable.
In the whole time, I have met only two persons, which were unfriendly. And these persons were a waiter and a shop assistant from Italy.
I really hope that I'll never meet an unfriendly American.

Yes, you will need a car in LA if those are your destinations. Universal Studios is in Hollywood, Disney is in Anaheim, and six flags in the middle. Rent a Camaro for the week and engine the Cali weather!

It is not possible to reach this destinations by taxi?
I know - if yes - it will be very expensive but I have never driven a car in the U.S. And LA is so huge.

Its about 40 miles each way. Not sure what cabs cost or if you can travel that far in one....never done one before. Looks like that a shuttle that runs between the 2.

If you drive in Germany you will have no issues driving in the states, Just remember the speed limit on the signs and on the Speedo are in mph not kph. LA is not a town you want to drive too slow in. You will be much happier with a rental. The cost of one taxi ride will be more than a days rental. Taxi's in the US are crazy expensive.
