 Ok I'll start by saying :yikes: I just realised I have become one of the old farts I used to hate when I was in my teens and early 20's :sm0:

Look at that Old Fart with that Hot Car , if that sounds familiar to any of you , your in the right place :D

This is my first post so I figured this would be a good place for it.
I'm not sure what constitutes an "Old Fart", but I知 41 and just recently purchased a 2014 R/S for my daily to/from work car. I have a few prettier cars that seldom get driven, but I知 loving the Camaro.
Sport bikes are a boat load faster and more fun though...

sscamaro 10-26-2016 04:01 PM

My 2010 2SS/RS is my 6th Camaro with 56K miles on it. Not letting any grass grow under it either. I have had one of every generation and the 5th is by far the best. I'm 82 years old and feel like I'm in my 50's.

Well come on down! I haven't missed a Daytona 500 since 1969!

Thank You! Next pics from Homestead - Miami for the Championship. I should have some good pics from there!

70rsz28 10-26-2016 08:30 PM

Welcome guys !

Trickskier any suggestions on seating, I know my father inlaw would only want to go on sunday

RubyCamaro 10-26-2016 08:34 PM

Wow lots going on.

Impressed with the house work Richard. Our house needs a lot of work but we just don't have the energy to do any of it ourselves. Saving to pay someone to do it. Mad props!

Great pics from the race Trick! Looks like fun.

Welcome aboard sscamaro & CourtJester! Glad you are enjoying your fountain-of-youth Camaros.

I'm still reeling from just how great the 370Z ran stock on the 1/4 mi stock. Can't wait to get it out again. Daily driving Ruby (my 5th Gen Camaro new folks) is still fun & I am glad I get to drive her more. But I sure look forward to weekends. Still counting the days until I can retire.

Happy Hump day crew!

Welcome new guys!

Selling old cars sucks! Either there are lots of lonely people out there or people just love to lie. No wonder I do not believe any of these people that contact me about the Chevelle. They say one thing and do something else.:bs:

That is the part i hated having to deal with people who are not serious about buying something . If your not interested in it don't waste our time .

Everyone is welcome. I think one sign you belong is the NEED for coffe, rather than just the desire.

I know a guy with a car lot in phx. Don't know his consignment fee but he is a really decent guy.

Exactly! There is a guy in Missouri that is interested in my Chevelle, but has to sell one of his cars first. Even told me where he is going to advertise it. Although I appreciate his honesty regarding his situation, I've yet to see his car up for sale. Another guy came to my house three days ago, felt we could do business, and said he would call me two days ago.

I've had people ask me where to seek financing and others ask me how to ship it overseas. I'm pretty sure Google is their friend in those situations.

Consignment dealers usually charge 10% of the selling price. Only concern I have is placing the Chevelle in their care. I use premium car care products and the least harmful methods of maintaining the finish. Not sure if they will drag a cheap, dirty towel over my paint, or keep greasy hands off the car.

Mr Twisty 10-27-2016 10:41 AM

True. Even in showroom everyone wants to touch

Yeah, she is now a 6 year old car and The Z is worth a lot more & much faster. The Z is my garage kept baby now.

I like to sit high to get a unobstructed view of the track. My seats are in section 468 but I just looked and there aren't any seats together available there. Check Turn 1 Upper in the 400 & 300 sections. If you purchase tickets in the 300 section get as high as you can to get a good view. I also recommend as close to the exit of pit road see you can see the pit stops.

The kicker is finding some place to stay. Most of the hotels in the Daytona Beach area want a 5 night minimum plus they jack the rates. You might be better off staying in Jacksonville. It's only an hour to the track and the traffic usually flows good. If you decide to come let me know and I'll give you some more tips and info.

CourtJester --- Welcome to the old farts !!

sscamaro --- Welcome to the old farts !! Do you still have your four old camaros ?? If yes, then post more pictures when able !!

Trick --- The #18 car looks like a turd in the brown scheme. But he usually drives the SxxT out of it. But, this week he did run like a turd.

Rick --- Keep holding on a buyer will come.

Jan --- Sorry to hear Ruby has been put to the carport. On the other side of the coin, that Z is amazing !!

Richard --- Daytona was great but my favorite track is Bristol TN. My $.02.

Have a good week-end everyone !!!

John

John - LMAO about the #18 looking like a turd! And three of the JGR cars just logged laps Sunday!

I like Bristol as well been there many times. But Daytona is the Super Bowl for NASCAR. My favorite track is Talladega!

I am very happy today as my favorite MLB team the Cleveland Indians are on the verge of winning their first World Series title in 68 years. One more win will do it. Part of me wants to see it go to six games so I can be there to see it in person. Another part just wants to see them wrap it up tonight as I don't want to give any life to a very good Cubs team. Right now I am just anxious I guess.

Mike & I went for a very nice cruise to Montgomery Bell State Park in the 2002 Anniversary Edition Camaro with the T-tops off. It was a beautiful day and it was sooooo nice. Here is a pic & a video.

Jan -- nice video !! The trees look great !!

69supersport396 10-31-2016 05:41 PM

Hey gang! Looks like everyone had a great weekend! Thanks for the pics and videos.

Took the Camaro to a Trunk or Treat Cruise on Friday, but forgot my candy. I left early because a line of thunderstorms was headed that way, and I did not bring any towels with me. By the time I got home and parked the car in the garage, a shower blew through. Typically I would not care, but all I need are water spots on that blue paint.

Drove the Chevelle over to the Pavilions Cruise as it was our club night. Lots of inquiries on the Chevelle, and lots of people that "will call me". Don't they know I am holding my breath! :D

69supersport396 11-01-2016 09:55 AM

Received another underwhelming offer from a classic car "flipper". This offer was REAL close to my bottom line, but he would not budge, and neither will I. ;)

69supersport396 11-03-2016 09:44 AM

Trying a different venue. It has received 654 views in 24 hours.

Got back home from Cleveland a few hours ago. Last night I got to witness history and one of the greatest baseball games ever played. It's a memory I will cherish forever even though my team lost. They never quit and I am proud to be a Cleveland Indians fan.

RubyCamaro 11-03-2016 08:49 PM

Glad you got you be there.

ragzl1 11-05-2016 01:09 PM

Zandron --- What are great event to be able to attend. Both teams had been waiting for this opportunity for a long time. The biggest thing that I came away with was the fact that both teams would help rach others team members up off the ground and smile and talk to each other. SPORTSMANSHIP !! You don't see that much anymore.

John

As the snowbirds arrive, our cruises will get better and more crowded.

Thanks.

69supersport396 11-08-2016 09:20 AM

Thanks John!

There now seems to be two interested parties for the Chevelle, both have to get affairs in order before they can buy it. Glad I am not in a hurry.
