Don't know yet not sold on the new motor yet

I always buy the 1st year of a new toy; I bought the C6 (Z51) when it came out in '05, the Ducati 1098 in '07 and recently the '12 ZL1. While it is cool to be the only kid on the block with a new toy for a few months I've learned that valuable upgrades always happen and bugs are always fixed in subsequent years. With all this new technology and a new engine the C7 is bound to have some issues to fix and upgrades will undoubtedly be made. Personally I would lose a Ton of $$ if I sold my ZL1 for a stingray this year but I may get one down the road once I see how well everything is working and maybe the Z06 will tickle my fancy more than the Z51 stingray anyway

My house will be paid off in 18 more months. Then I can see me trading in my 2012 SS for a Laguna Blue Stingray.:emoticon11:

I'd likely be fine with it... my Boss 302 has the optional pair of Recaros and I love it. I saw/felt/played with the Competition seats at the CHI auto show and have no immediate qualms.
In due time, we shall see... :thumb:

I'd buy the competition seat just for the carbon fiber on it :D

Do you guys plan on trading for a Stingray, adding a Stingray to your garage, or not getting a Stingray at all?

I had an SS, but sold it about a year ago. I've been planning on getting a ZL1, however I am curious about the Stingray...and have been considering it.

Not sure of all the specs of the Stingray yet though. Not sure if it will have Magnetic Ride Control or not. I know the current ZR1 has it, but I don't know if all current models of the Corvette have it.

For now I only plan to rent the Stingray, until something with more power comes out like 600hp+

MR is an option on Z51 package Stingrays

This could end up being a very difficult choice between the two, however it's still likely to be the ZL1...maybe. Can't go wrong either way, to be honest.

The ZL1 is an absolute beast from everything I've read - can't say that I've had the pleasure of driving one. However, you're talking about a 4,120 lb (listed curb weight) car with a back seat versus 3,300 (approx) lb 2 seater. Mag shocks and big ass Brembos can't hide that much mass completely even though Chevy has done (from what I've read) a wonderful job of trying to compensate for it. Not to mention much more weight being up front versus the 'Vette at 50/50 (actually, I've read that it may be more like 49/51 once everything is finaled in production).

Then again, bench racing is wonderful - I'm sure someone will run an instrumented comparison on the two at some point ;)

Keeping the 2012 2LT and getting the C7 for my wife.

I am keeping my ZL1 without a doubt. Always said I would own a Corvette one day. Then Chevy hit it out of the park with the ZL1 for me. The car is a head turner and a beast performer... But, dang, that Stingray is HOT! My wife is saving for a C7. Muscle and Sport, Best of both worlds if she gets one!
