Engine Power is Reduced...

What does this mean? I had just got on the freeway this afternoon in very icy conditions and freezing rain, and this came on along with what looks like NO traction control. I tried to re-engage the traction control on the console, but nothing. At first I thought it might have something to do with the road conditions, but idk. I've never had this happen and it's my 2nd Camaro.
I called the dealership while on the road (35 minute drive took 2 hrs due to weather) and they didn't know, only said bring it in. Any thoughts on why this came on? Thanks |
You don't have a VTC installed do you?

Vitesse Throttle Controller has been known to trigger the reduced power mode on a lot of people's cars.

So the photo looks like I had no traction control, right? And it's iced over out there...great time to be without traction control. Ugh...

Could be something as simple as a bad sensor
|
Does it hurt to drive it? At least to get it to the dealership. I drove it home, but really couldn't go over 35 anyway due to road conditions.

Could be a bad sensor or a bad throttle body since you don't have the VTC installed.

Someone else will have to chime in though cause I don't have any personal experience with this |

Yea then by all accounts I reckon you can limp in
Like I said, wait for someone who has some experience with this. I think most times this ends up as a bad MAF sensor or throttle body in general |
