Well, I've talked to my buddy at the dealershio where I ordered the SS.

Not a lot of info. yet. He confirmed a V6 and V8, with a 'vert to follow, as well as "rumors" of a possible 'ZL1' type in the future. :iono:

dont even bother going to the dealerships yet. we know more than most of them do anyways. and i read a magazine (dont know which one it was) that had the new vette against the new gt500. gt500 has more hp and torque (thanks to a supercharger) but the vette was still quickerthan it....hahaha. fords are P.O.S. my god a n?a vette w/ 400 hp beat a SUPERCHARGED MUSTANG. if thats the case and they want to test that mustang agains the 427 camaro........ the camaro will destroy it with over 500 hp, BYE BYE FORD. GAME OVER

that tis why I will only deal with a dealer that won't mark it up. just so happens there's one here in fayetteville. too bad aafes doesn't say gm cars anymore. I'd get deployed on purpose and buy it while I was there tax free and not marked up. lol.fun stuff. oh well. I won't deal with a dealer that marks up anything. and I tell all my friends not to. b/c why give them money and keep them in buisness. oh well.

Like I said previously, there will be a v-8 version and a v-6 version. As slated right now there is a LS-2 to go under the hood at 400hp. You guys are getting way ahead of the game on this horsepower thing!! Chevy will not put a car in the same class as a vette!!! The vette will get the upgrade before the camaro. They are playing with the idea of a Z07! Right now we have a 7.0L(vette) that has 505hp for under a $100k!!!! If anything is to change, it probably won't be the engine....it would be an addition of a turbo or supercharger!!! We still have 2 years left. By the way, if anyone is looking to buy a vette or needs info on any chevy products here is my info

actually they probably will change the engine. their always working on new motors and upgrades. if it doesnt change the first year it comes out it will the next year. something about it will change. like in the 98 - 00 camaro is a little different motor than the 01-2 because of the intake manifold and some other things. so im sure there will be a new ls motor soon. and they already have the camaro in the same class as the vette becasue it has the same motor. the days are long gone of rying notto piss off the vette guys because people are willing to pay for the z06 motor in the camaro. gm even announced that they werent going to try to keep the camaro under the vette. all you vette guys just dont want to see some of the options from the vette in the camaro becasue its a better deal. i like vettes, but i wouldnt pay 70g's for a z06 but i owuld pay upwards to 50g's for a ls7 camaro
