Are you talking about the concept? They will certainly change in production.

Well, from information already available, they have told us how much it will change... I am looking for base Holden-chassis dimensions to start from... here is what I have so far.

Wheelbase 114.76" + ~2" (for larger wheels) based on Holden Commodore dimensions...

length: 186.2 in. - (from Edmunds.com)
height: 53.0 in.- (from Edmunds.com) - known to be going up <0.5"
width: 79.6 in.- (from Edmunds.com) - known to be narrowing <0.5"
wheel base: 110.5 in.- (from Edmunds.com)

Curb weight 1690–1825 kg (3726–4023 lb) (Only for Holden Commodore so far)

I am just curious to get a sense of scale... for instance...

BMW 335i:
Length × Width × Height in: 180.6 × 70.2 × 54.1

BMW M6:
Length × Width × Height in: 191.8 × 80.4 × 54

That weight on the Holden is a little scary! :eek:

I expect the Camaro to come in pretty close to that weight... my guess for the full-monty V8 SS-whatever is around 3900lbs. If its much less I'll be surprised... they just can't help but make fat cars these days.

The Challenger will probably be around 4100lbs based on SRT8 300C weights...

Take the coupe specifications and make these changes...
roofline - 12 mm higher
width - 1/2 inch narrower
wheelbase - 50mm longer.

I think this is right.

I think I saw those dimension changes out there, TAG they sound right to me.

For those of us that aren't that familiar with millimeters-

Roofline - .47 inches higher
Width - 1/2 inch narrower
Wheelbase - 1.97 inches longer

either way this is going to be a great car dimension-wise!
I think it was TAG who said it: 5 or so inches wider than any Camaro ever produced, (chuckle) I can't wait for this baby!

Damm, the 5th gen is going to be a stocky car!!! Rustang drivers are gonna crap their pants when they see a 5th gen in their rearview! Talk about serious road presence.

When you look at the numbers, you realize this car is MUCH closer in size to a BMW 6-series coupe than the 3-series coupe (which is the car I THOUGHT it would be closest in size to).

Its only ~1" narrower, but almost 5" shorter than an M6! That is a LOT of road presence... very nasty. Its also has a 1" lower roofline! Crazy.

If they can keep the HP up, they have a legit M6 fighter..

I just hope that the added size doesn't add too much weight. I mean, if you think about it, this is going to be one of the largest Camaros ever built. Hopefully it is not the heaviest as well! However, that added width should really help to lower the center of gravity and, along with the IRS, should make it one fun car to drive through corners!

You can only imagine what the engineers have planned for the Camaro when you read that the top of the line Vette will get 600bhp in two years. So it's a possibility that an SS version could run w/ such company.

The 5th Gen is probably going to be the heaviest Camaro ever... there's just no way around it. Cars keep getting heavier with every generation due to increasing safety standards that force engineers to add more bracing and more safety features... its just the way it is.

The real hope is that they keep the lb/hp ratio pretty low... 10lbs/hp is sort of the magic number for crazy performance. If they manage 3900lbs or less and 450hp then its 8.67lbs/hp which is awesome... very few cars can match that.

I bet the first SS or whatever V8 model is only about 400hp, and the car is around 4200lbs, which gets us to aroun 10.5lb/hp which ain't bad really.

If they did that, then the special edition could use the LS7 and make ~500hp and be a lot lighter for increased performance... THAT's the one I want. 500hp, and no option that doesn't make the car go/stop/turn faster! :evil:
