This may be a dumb question, but since I don't know the answer, I will ask it anyway. Are the order numbers generated at random, or is there any sequence to them that may or may not show the sequence that GM will be accepting them? I notice some are all letters, some with one number and did see one I believe with 2 numbers. Does this question make sense?

The orders #'s would be sequential as they are assigned to
an order, but it has nothing to do with the sequence that GM
will accept them. Once the allocation is available, the dealer
can create and order and place it in the same day that will
make it "newer" than others that were created weeks ago -

They show up immediately- just like yours did. They
won't change status until the dealer places it against
their allocation and there's no telling how long that may
take.

What is expected lead time once factory accepts/acknowledges order?
