is it a permanent install that will stay in place while putting the top up and down? :pop2:

EM9IRE 07-11-2014 03:24 PM

Yes it is :)

Looks slick, and it seems to restore usage of the rear seats which the factory one eliminates. Bonus if you dont have to remove it when the top goes up and down.

Anyone here use it? Would be good to get a real review on it.

Chase!!! Let me Beta Test it -- i want one in blue that says CALIFORNIA LOVE
And then i will write an eloquent and honest review of the product.
I live in L.A. and drive all over the city, beaches, PCH, and all our canyons.
It would get some serious California love.

Yes, it stays in place and looks very cool with the top up. Jump to the 0:32 mark in the video in the opening post.

These are available to order now on our website. No beta testing needed at this point.

Is it possible to get one with a Hot Wheels logo?

I'll have to checking on the licensing/trademark on that one but it is probably a no-go.

How difficult is it to wire up? Can you post instructions?

I just bought and installed this a couple weeks ago. I'd read that it's not at all a wind restrictor, but helped with the passengers in the back seats. I have two girls with long hair and they complained about the top being down. Blasphemy...

Here are my Pros:
- Install is easy. I found it easier to tighten the bolts by putting the top up just shy of half way to get the support bars out of the way to help with more space.
- Wiring worried me, but the instructions they provide and also googled the specific instructions on their website and it was spot on. I just wish they made the wire about a foot longer to give some more play.
- It looks so bad ass. I wouldnt' consider this a wind restrictor in the real sense. If your looking for better wind protection in the cabin, then pick something else. IMHO, this is purely a cosmetic device.

Cons:
- It really doesn't do much to redirect wind or reduce wind much in the back seats. I didn't expect it, but that's what it's marketed as and I believe it fails in that regard.

SO that said, would I buy it again?? I think I would. It just looks so cool when lit up. I followed their instructions and tapped to the brake lights, so mine is only on when I'm applying the brakes. The instructions also show how to wire up a switch so you can turn it on and off when you like. I'm happy with how I did it and it looks great.

Some may also wonder about use with the tonneau cover. I have it and no issues there either that I've found. Since it slides in behind the tonneau bolts, they are still there to loop too.

Hope this helps.

On the Camaro and Mustang it is not nearly as effective as it is on some of the other cars. Because there is a back seat it sits pretty far back from the windshield so it can't capture the vortex coming off the top of it as effectively as it can on say a Corvette or Boxster.

TTopTony 07-28-2014 11:24 AM

If you role the windows up it has a more dramatic effect on the wind in the back seats. I've even noticed it up front although not as much.
