That's so tragic.
Extremely detailed write up. I learned a great deal of things. These guys and gals were a courageous bunch; each a hero. |
Great write-up, I don't know which was worse, Challenger happening so suddenly or watching how radio contact was lost with Columbia and just awaiting. Either way, both tragic.
So what got you so interested in Space? and another how was communication done to the orbiter, through High Frequency? Or what wavelength? Or through bouncing off satellites? |

Basically living in Florida and visiting the KSC so many times. You learn to love the Shuttles when you're a Floridian. Space Shuttles actually use high frequency and satellites. It depends on a number of factors. |

i just read up a little on my own about the crew being recovered. i think i wish i hadn't.

I read it too. But I decided to refrain from posting it. I didn't want people to feel too uncomfortable.

Awesome post, Overflow.
I will never forget that day, watching it all happen on live TV in my 3rd grade classroom. |
I'm glad everyone enjoyed it.

I've typed up the STS-107 anniversary post, but I'm experiencing technical difficulties. Facepalm.
