A silver 2017 Camaro ZL1 will be the pace car for the upcoming Daytona 500 NASCAR Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series event held at Daytona International Speedway on Sunday, February 26, 2017. None other than four-time NASCAR champion Jeff Gordon will be driving it.

I took these pictures of the car while watching the FOX television broadcast of the race.

IMHO, this particular car in silver didn't have much presence on television. It would have looked a lot better with some graphics other than just decals on the doors.

It also looked sort of silly for Jeff Gordon driving the pace car in a shirt and tie while the guy sitting alongside him was fully decked out in safety gear.

it would have been cool if he did a big burnout and took off away from the pack in the back stretch just for a few seconds.... imagine the attention then!

I wonder if he was tempted to do one...... or two hundred more laps...

Almost looks like it could run with them at speed.

Wonder how it would do with different gearing and tires..... wait never mind that was dumb.
