Not again :laughabove:

Seriously, if you have money in a dealers hands, they are earning interest on your dough and it doesn't mean much at this point :D

lets find someone at the factory. . .lol. that will be the best bet for finding out when they are actually about to hit the showroom floors. well at least when they start production. once they start will can figure it out.

Out of curiosity, how much did you plop down as your deposit?

LowRider 01-22-2007 10:33 AM

I am going to wait a few years to get the SS or Z28.

camarokev 01-22-2007 12:04 PM

Exactly. If you don't mind the fact that they are earning interest on your money, it's all good. Of course, if they signed and agreement stating that you would get the first, second, third order and you think it's worth it, more power to you! Personally, I'll wait to place my order later on after everyone else gets in there and spends a few extra dollars.

And on the other point....the fbodfather set the record straight already on release dates. If you still think it's going to come out in 07 after what he said, well....okay. If you missed the post, here ya go....post 26

I'm going to wait it out b/c I really don't think if they make a ZL1 it will be in the first year. if I'm wrong oh well. but I plan to buy the top dog even if it's over 40k. as long it's only b/c of msrp over 40 no mark ups. I will not pay a mark up. already know a dealer that will work with me on that. lol.

That is not bad if it is fully refundable. Does it guarantee you a Camaro in any particular order or just gets you on a list? I guess I am confused about these lists. If you want a Z/28 Hugger Orange with black interior and x options, then what happens if the dealership doesn't get one with those exact specifications for months. They can place an order, but how long will it take Chevy to fulfill orders initially.

i am usually a big proponent about letting your money work for you by earning interest, but if you think about it, $1000 at 5% over the course of 2 years compounding daily will turn your $1000 into $1105 and some change. I guess it all depends on how much you are willing to forgo to ensure you get one of the first Camaros. To some, $105 may not be that much.

Like Ed Pepper said, GM is hoping to have 3 months of orders before any roll off the line. In other words, they release all available information, orders start coming in, and then they begin building. If you have money down and you are expecting to special order (which I believe 95% of us here will be doing), there shouldn't be a problem w/ getting anything you want. That is unless you are expecting GM to offer something and they don't come out with it...ie: hugger orange w/ black stripes and black interior combo.

OverAnxious 01-22-2007 01:15 PM

Yeah, the interest statement is only thrown out there. Obviously the interest on a down payment isn't that much cash :D

I'll be ordering mine just how I want it :D

camarokev 01-22-2007 04:08 PM

i figured i might as well get my name down incase they limit them to only a few per dealer so i will get one for sure.
