ENGINE STALLING DUE TO CRANKSHAFT PLAY
DEALER JUST CALLED STATING BULLETIN GOING OUT ABOUT CRANKSHAFT END PLATE PLAY ALLOWING CRANK TO WALK FORWARD LOSING SIGNAL THEN CAUSING ENGINE SHUT DOWN!!! I love this car but cant tolerate its unreliability... Is it unreasonable to demand a newly bulit C7 or invoke Lemon Law and sadly move on the another manufactures vehicle???

Can you provide more details of the bulletin? Does it affect all C7's or ??
|
I say it's time to get the car replaced... I've read all of your threads, could've been the bad one of the bunch. So far mine's been holding up, no problems other than paint scuffs which the dealer fixed. Good luck!

Get out of that car. |
And I don't do think you have to move on to another brand. I'm willing to bet that if you simply get another C7, everything will be fine. These are just the early woes that plague every new product launch on the market. You just got unlucky, that's all. Get another vette and I'm sure it'll meet all of your expectations.
Just as an FYI: I once read about a guy buying a very early Porsche 998 911 GT2 just to have the fuel pump fail the second day of ownership. Again, some failures are inevitable with new products. |
Hopefully, this bulletin will be the fix. I trust you are getting a loaner car.
