Welcome, thats not a bad method of calculating the price, though your explanation isn't very clear. If I understand the premise of your method, you don't need the price of an 08 Camaro. Take the price of a 2002 Camaro Z28 2002 $22 830 subtract the Mustang GT $23 220 and you get -$390 or 1.68% less than the Mustang. Here is where we start to run into problems, as it is expected that the new Camaro will cost more than the current mustang does. but lets continue anyway. based on the 2008 mustang gt premium at $27 260 we get a 2008 Camaro for $26 802. Assuming inflation of 2%/year, the price of a new Camaro with the base V8 would come to 27 347. Thats about $1300 less than the estimate we have in this thread http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2799

But anyway, welcome to the site

I see what you mean. In my example i was thinking about how the 2002 base v6 camaro ($18,415) is more expensive than the base 2002 v6 mustang ($17,475)

Reasonable will vary from person to person and financial status. My take on reasonable would be at $30k. Some of you might jump at that # and ask, "what are you thinking?!?!" But, as we pointed out a while back, the cost for the LS1 and LS3 are near identical. So, yeah....don't be suprised.

tag, ur so wise. i think the affordability everyone is thinking about for the youngsters is really the v6 model. i mean v8 is a big responsibility and so i think 30k is a good point there.
