CTS-V vs Camaro SS
Now that my Camaro has been invoiced and is on it's way,I am having 2nd thoughts about taking delivery. If this car has any of the visible defects that have been mentioned on this site,I am thinking of not accepting the car and purchasing a CTS-V instead! The V won't be around much longer and it has 562 supercharged ponies.0 to 60 in 3.9 seconds. This car will not need any mods and everything is factory guaranteed. In due time when all the bugs are worked out of the Camaro,I may purchase one then. What do you guys think?

If you have the money, then go for it
|
why would you even consider a camaro if you have the $$$ and like the CTS-V?? Makes no sense....The camaro is a cool car, but not even close to the same class as the caddie
|
yea the v is a sick ride no doubt!!!
|
60k vs. 40k??? big spread..
|
+1
if i could get the CTS-V...i'd get that! |
the LSA fvckin owns

That's funny. I was comparing the two vehicles before I saw this thread- not that I have any cash.
But seriously, you can get a slightly used LS7 ZO6 for new CTS V money. I'd go that route- or hope for an LSA Z28 edit: I didn't notice that OP already owns a C6 corvette... That said, go with the CTS V. |

Yeah, I found an 08 Z06 with nav and I believe less than 2k miles for 57K.

I've been doing the research on getting a V and GM Canada is making it very tempting!
First of all, there is a $6500 cash delivery allowance on the car from GM Canada. Then there is the GM loyalty program - which allows another $2000 discount if you already own a Cadillac (don't have to trade it) Our '99 STS qualifies us for this. On top of this, you can use $2500 in GM Visa points on the purchase, which we have. That's $11,000 off MSRP before you even begin to negotiate with the dealer! The Canadian and Ontario governments are also considering a "cash for clunkers" program to stimulate new car purchases. Any car 10 years or older would be worth $3000-$3500 as a trade on a new car purchase. This is still not a done deal, but that would be the clincher for me! I've got a '97 Bonneville that qualifies. The logic that makes this even more attractive to me is that I can only get $1000 off from GM Loyalty and $1500 in GM Visa points on a new Camaro - PLUS - I've been hoping for a Z/28 - which doesn't seem to be appearing on the horizon anytime soon. IF GM were to produce a Z/28, I have no doubt the cost would be significantly higher than an SS - with very little if any incentives. The price of a hypothetical Z would then not be much different than a CTS-V with all the incentives tacked on. Gee... I think I just talked myself into getting a V, which would be my 4 dr. Z/28! ;) Best regardSS, Elie |
My sis in law has a 2004 V. She worships that car.... So do I. It is beautiful, and kick ass fast! Plus is sounds AWESOME with butterfly cutouts and super fortys.
Not a fan of the new V's though. |
I wish I had 65k, I would get one!!! The car is the BOMB!!!
