Totally agree. WOW.

Twin Turbo 08-09-2006 02:44 PM

The black and red looks great.

Black and silver would look even better! :)

$anani 08-11-2006 02:15 AM

Lovin it! All 3 pics with striping down the middle look hot. I think thats gonna be the way to go with the 5th gen model.

TAG UR IT 08-17-2006 08:10 AM

Agreed. That really does look like the way to go. Those are verrrry nice. I hope the factory offers up some kind of nice painted striping and doesn't do some vinyl aftermarket stuff.
If anyone knows how to do photo shop, can someone try to change the above pix to the corvettes "Sunset Metallic Orange" color? Maybe with some different colored stripes (white, black). I would love to check those out!

The dealer here in town that I have already talked to about ordering said they have a custom paint shop to be able to add stripes (if they don't already have them).;)

who put those nasty ass gto wheels on that car.i hate those wheels with a passion. i thinkthey are the ugliest things. i hope to god they dont produce it with those wheels :P

Moose 09-01-2006 07:08 AM

Everytime I see a photoshop of the concept in black, it makes me rethink my position on a color once I order one. It really looks nasty in black. But already having a black car, I know the work involved, and I don't know that I want 2 black cars to be anal over?! :D

I'm still leaning towards a lighter coloer, ie; silver, with no striping. I prefer the "clean" look. ;)

BlacLac02 09-01-2006 01:51 PM

i think it looks really good in black. you can never go wrong with black. the best was to get a black car is new because if you get a used black car the odds are the persone before you didnt know how to take care of it. if you get a new black car you can make sure you dont mess up the paint and always keep it waxed and keep any kind of swirling from getting into the paint. if you know how to wax a car the right way. black car never ever do swirls while applying wax. i got a black escalade now and i keep it emaculate. i also detail cars on the side so i guess you have to have a will to want to take care of something as much as a black car needs

Moose 09-02-2006 12:54 PM

BlacLac02, I also do some detailing on the side as a result on people seeing my black SS. :D

http://Bubba.smugmug.com/photos/3213548-M.jpg

I was fortunate to be able to order the SS, and I asked the dealer not to touch the exterior. I've tried several different waxes/polishes, and for me, Zaino works best. ;) I've learned all the tips/methods for keepin the SS looking new. (And it doesn't hurt that it's not my daily driver.)

Twin Turbo 09-02-2006 12:56 PM

That is one SHINEY car

Thanks. ;) It sure is worth the effort. :)

TAG UR IT 09-03-2006 12:42 AM

You guys are right, black is the best but it's so darn tough to keep clean. I use the orbital buffer w/ Mothers Stage 1 polish, Stage 2 wax, and then the FX Synwax. Yes, it takes all day (and a bunch of polishing cloths!). But, the results are phenomenal! I love the reflection in the black paint. You just can't beat it.

$anani 09-03-2006 04:12 AM

i take the silver i drive a black car and its just to much work.

BlacLac02 09-05-2006 06:21 AM

i just spent all day yesterday detailing my escalade. i did a 3 step wax to it. --washed it
-used claybar to remove dirt and any thing in the paint
-clear coat compound applied by hand to brighten paint and remove light swirl marks and scratches
- then light coat of wax by hand to seal everything in.
i had to stop after the clay bar and then start back up again doing the clear compound and then take a break and then do the wax which happened to be the shortest thing to do and easiest. it probably took me 4 hours but it looks brand new now. its all worth it to me. anything smaller than a escalade is easy to detail for me. so this camaro should be a piece of cake

$anani 09-05-2006 10:33 AM

that neon green picture gives a good idea what the stock wheels will look like on the camaro. good picture without the 22

TAG UR IT 09-05-2006 10:49 AM

Yeah, it does give a better representation on the wheel size. Just keep the ugly rims as far away as possible from this awesome car. Those look like those dodge truck rims. ugh...

BlacLac02 09-06-2006 07:58 AM

hopefully they will do stock 18's on it and possibly offer something a little bigger but i doubt it. ill just have to do that myself

TAG UR IT 09-06-2006 10:38 AM

Bigger they get, the more you pay for the tires. But, they look a hell of a lot better. Guess it's an okay trade off.

BlacLac02 09-06-2006 11:34 AM

nothing can really be more expensive than my last set of tires. i paid 1800 for some pirelli's for my escalade 315/ 35/ 24. i went the cheap way after those wore out after 12,000 miles. got myself some wanli's for 1000. on my old t/a i paid 700 for bfgoodrich tires. it had the same size as the c5 z06

TAG UR IT 09-06-2006 12:39 PM

Ouch. That's way too much for me for tires. I wanted the nice ones for my SS but all the tires I found were $800 to $900 for the Z rated. Well, after doing a little research, I found the Sumitomo HTR+ and only paid $500 for all 4 Z rated tires. That was a good deal. You can't beat Discount tire.

BlacLac02 09-07-2006 06:46 AM

i get all of mine off of ebay. they have the best deals by far. the pirellis i had were normally about 2500-3000 at any other tire place but ebay had them for 1800 and the wanlis were normally 1500 but i paid 1000

TAG UR IT 09-07-2006 07:39 AM

Very nice. Next time I need tires, I'll give ebay a shot. I've looked for rims b4 but never for tires.

BlacLac02 09-07-2006 08:53 AM

yeah thats where i get all my tires. and yes they sell new and used. but i got my old t/a tires there brand new and saved almost 600 from what tire rack was selling the same one for. and i priced a couple of tire palces around here and they were all really expensive.

Couple more wild ones

BlacLac02 09-15-2006 06:57 AM

i like the black and gold very nice

boxmonkeyracing 09-15-2006 07:53 AM

I agree about the black and gold. but get rid of the ram air scoop and make the back part open for cowl induction.

BlacLac02 09-18-2006 06:38 PM

that is a cowl induction hood.....:iono: and the scoop in the front is what is on the concept. im sure it serves some kind of purpoes for an intake

boxmonkeyracing 09-18-2006 07:40 PM

just doesn't look right having a ram air scoop and a cowl hood.

BlacLac02 09-19-2006 06:45 AM

i think it looks pretty slick

I like the black and red one.

SSFreak11 11-10-2006 10:42 PM

http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c2...sCamaro5-1.jpg I got bored today and started messing with photoshop, I think i have decided on the color scheme that I want. What do you all think?

TAG UR IT 11-11-2006 02:39 AM

Oh hell yeah! That's, and I'm sorry for saying this, exactly what I want! I also was thinking about a very metallic, bright silver stripe. Maybe SOM or pewter. Those would look cool too. Can you do a color scheme w/ those?
